Project Spotlights.
A steeple for a country church, a bridge to an island in a farm pond, stainless platforms for a pharmaceutical line, and a test section for a university wind tunnel. Here is some of the work that has left our shop in Broadway, Virginia, each with the full write-up behind it.
Most jobs that come through our door start as a phone call about a problem, not a drawing.
From there, the same team usually carries the job the whole way: our project managers scope it, our designers draw it, the shop machines and fabricates it, and our crews install it on site. The projects below show that in practice. Each card links to the original story, with photos and video where we have them.

Design & BuildChurch Steeple Replacement
Removed a failing steeple at Keezletown United Methodist, then designed and fabricated a 16 ft, 800+ lb replacement that was powder coated and hoisted onto the bell tower.
Design & BuildSnow Tubing Lane Shapers
Built the inventors' lane-shaping implement from concept and CAD into a production piece. We have made them since 2012, and they are used at ski resorts across the country.
Design & BuildFestival Torch for Massanutten Resort
Designed and fabricated the metal top of a gas-fired torch carrying the resort's logo for a ski-slope festival, on a short deadline.
Design & BuildSnow Plow Mounting Brackets for VDOT
Worked with VDOT on a bracket design that mounts heavy plows to different trucks, then fabricated and test-fitted each one so drivers only had to bolt on.
Design & BuildMobile Web Café for Deployed Troops
A self-contained, air-transportable communications and recreation facility, built for a military contractor so soldiers in Iraq could video-call home.
Platforms, frames & weldments
Structural and production fabrication: access platforms, bridge frames, and truck bodies, built in our shop and delivered ready to use.
FabricationStainless Pharmaceutical Platform
Platform, stairs, and railing in stainless steel with ground and polished welds for sanitation, plus a section on solid casters that rolls aside when needed.
FabricationElevated Work Area & Walkway
Engineered after a site visit so technicians can run and service a production machine safely. Built to be strong, and still easy to move for maintenance access.
FabricationFarm Pond Footbridge
Designed and fabricated in-house: a bridge frame spanning more than 25 ft to give a Shenandoah Valley farm access to an island in its pond.

Fabricated the bed of our own crew truck and fitted it with tool storage. We build service vehicles for businesses and government agencies the same way.
Upgrades on the production floor
Work that combines our electrical, millwright, and machine shop people to get existing equipment running better.
On-Site & ElectricalWire & Cable Line Drive Conversion
Converted a cable production line in Culpeper, Va. from a single drive shaft to dedicated VFD controls, with new motors, PLC and HMI work, and on-site commissioning.
On-Site & ElectricalCNC Mill Control Retrofit
Picked up a CNC mill with a failing control, fitted a new Centroid control panel, reinstalled it, and trained the owner's technician. It cost far less than a new machine.
