Government Services
Parts, systems and structures for the defense industry, public agencies and university research programs — machined and fabricated under one roof in Broadway, Virginia.
Machining for Applications Where the Part Has to Be Right
Bryan Tool is a family-owned, third-generation owned and operated machine and fabrication shop, and we provide government machining services to the defense industry for the production of parts, systems and structures.
We have been trusted to machine components for highly sensitive applications. Government work comes with demanding requirements — on material, on documentation, on who handles what — and prime contractors pass those requirements straight down to the shops that make their parts. We are DFARS compliant and set up to work that way.
Our public-sector work goes beyond defense. We have built test hardware for university research, a deployable communications facility for troops overseas, and equipment for the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Three Jobs for Public Clients
Different agencies, different problems. Each one needed a shop that could design, machine and fabricate without handing the job off.
Mobile Communications Facility
A large military contractor needed a self-contained facility, deliverable by aircraft, where soldiers stationed in Iraq could video-call, email and chat with family at home — and that would double as a recreation area. We built it rugged enough for deployment and daily desert use. Read the case study.
Supersonic Wind Tunnel Test Section
For the University of Virginia’s Aerospace Research Laboratory, we supplied the test section of a continuous-flow wind tunnel used in a NASA-funded study of scramjet combustion at simulated Mach 5. Read more.
VDOT Snow Plow Brackets
We have completed several projects for the Virginia Department of Transportation. One was designing, with VDOT, and fabricating the brackets that mount heavy snow plows to their trucks. Read more.
What We Make for Government Work
The same machines and the same people that serve our commercial customers, working to whichever requirements the contract sets.
Paperwork That’s Already in Order
The questions a contracting officer or a prime’s supplier-quality team asks first.
DFARS Compliant
We meet the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement requirements that flow down on defense work. What DFARS covers.
Virginia Class A Contractor
Licensed in Virginia as a Class A contractor, for the installation and site work that often comes with a fabrication job.
Avetta & ISNetworld
Safety compliant through Avetta and registered with ISNetworld, so we can be approved quickly for work inside your facility.
Measured, and Documented When the Contract Asks
We inspect on a coordinate measuring machine and can supply dimensional reports with the parts when your program requires a record.
Tell us what the paperwork needs to say and we will tell you plainly whether we can produce it. See quality control and process documentation for how we handle inspection.
